This thing is more fancy than the normal, cheap wine vacuums, but it didn't seem like it made as good of a vacuum and it also broke after a few times.

This is actually the second Houdini wine pump set that I have owned. The first worked very well, and lasted for two years before it broke. I liked it so much that I decided to buy another set to replace it... which was apparently a mistake. I'm not sure if Metrokane changed the construction of the item or if I got a defective set, but it is barely functional. The pump removes almost no air from wine bottles, and it's pretty clear that the seal is very poor. I'm not sure whether I would recommend this produce or not-- I had good luck with the first one I bought, but this one is a dud.

I've been using mine for several years; definitely get a longer shelf life out of an open bottle! Be sure to get extra stoppers though!
