I read the other few reviews and was surprised that the story was the same. I have had mine for a few months now and the balloon always stays inflated and it is fantastic. I want to open wine but not drink the whole bottle (want to but shouldn't) and I am able to seal it with the air cork and keep it for many days.So I bought another one since the first one worked so well and it also works as promised. I also ordered extra balloons, because there will be a time when the balloon will pop, and I do not want to be without it.Hope this helps...

I have tried almost every vacuum product out there, (I work on vacuum pumps). I only drink one glass a day so a bottle goes bad quick on me. The vacuum systems work if you get a good seal, (just because it doesn't suck back in when reopening doesn't mean it was a bad seal, liquids out-gas). That being said, you still have to hope you have a good seal. This little device takes a different approach. It keeps the oxygen away via a barrier. If the balloon is attached properly and you follow the instructions, you can keep a bottle for quite some time. I even turned a bottle upside down to watch for leaks for several hours due to the dark glass of some bottles. So far, my wine is fresh every morning when I get home.

I have been using the air cork for many months and have even given it out as gifts to several people. I absolutely love my air cork and so do all of the people that I have given it to! I did get some extra balloons, but haven't had to use one yet. I wish that I would have thought of this product, because it is the perfect solution for preserving my opened bottles of wine! My advice to anyone using it for the first time...be gentle with it, until you get the hang of it.
