These are not as heavy as I would think for being nickle. I think there is only a thin layer of nickle on the surface. Both rings had some scuffing on them that doesn't seem to wipe off, but it is not noticeable except up close. The lining that catches the wine drips also seems a little thin, but it seems to do the job. They look good on the bottle. They will not fit on Pinot Noir bottles.
